Mike Dodson has joined cruel forces with the R candidate for Kansas Governor, Derek S. May I remind you of Derek’s stump event, standing alongside Florida’s Ron DeSantis, praising his human trafficking immigration policies and mediocre public education system.

There have been far too many moments in history when silence was the response to injustice, and the world became a darker place. We find ourselves on the brink of that precipice. Would you have known about the 2020 Riley County Board of Commissioner’s awful decision to buy an $852,000 unusable church without even a walk through, had it not been for local journalism?

Congratulations, Mike Dodson, on your endorsement from Kansans for Life - the special interest group that gambled wrong on taking away women’s rights. Oh, and they’re also blackmailing legislators to withhold Medicaid expansion in exchange for their endorsement.

I hate that we pay 6.5% state sales tax on our food. This could’ve and should’ve been reduced to ZERO PERCENT more than two months ago. I’ve spent over $100 in food tax in just two months. I’m fed up.

Our current House Rep. Mike Dodson voted NO on eliminating the sales tax on food to 0% July 1, 2022. He voted NO on giving us immediate relief at the cash register. He is out of touch with the rest of us.

An open letter to my current House Rep. Mike Dodson:

You voted to allow the August 2nd Constitutional Amendment move forward to the ballot. You voted against moving it from August to November, which is a higher turnout. And you voted against carving out the exception for rape, incest or the life of the mother.

You are a threat to women. And you don’t deserve another day in the legislature.

My local Democratic candidate for the Kansas House, Kim Zito, has rightfully and thoughtfully resurrected the fact that the state government is not upholding its fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers. And she is leading the fight to put money back into our wallets.

Just because we kicked the August 2nd Constitutional Amendment to the curb doesn’t mean the Legislature will listen. In fact, the pro-birth special interest group has told us they will be coming back to take our rights. And as long as the Kansas GOP has 2/3 majority, we will be back here again and again and again, fighting for our rights.

Vote. Vote each and every one of them who put us in jeopardy OUT.

We are owed property tax relief. Our mill levies can and should be reduced. And there is no reason why our property taxes should be increasing so drastically each and every year.

The party in charge has been the Republican party since 1993. And we haven’t had property tax relief since 2001.

To the party in charge: don’t tell me there’s nothing you can do.

We showed the world that WE HAVE POWER.

WE DO. Not them.

And that terrifies the bejeezus outta them - which is why they need to drive manufactured wedge issues between us in order to distract us. But here’s the truth:

We’re not as divided as they need us to be.
