What will Kansas tell the world today?

Today, I sure hope that Kansas demonstrates to our country and to the world that we value and respect women and trust each woman to make her own decision about her body, no matter the circumstances.

Today, I hope we tell the country that a person’s agency over their own body is as basic a right as basic rights can get. If we don’t own our own bodies, then we have nothing. Nothing.

Today, I hope we tell the country that abortion is health care.

Today, I hope we tell the country that we have freedom of religion - that means, I have the freedom to practice MY religion without needing permission from YOU.

Today, I hope we tell the country that truth will prevail over lies and deception.

Tomorrow is August 3rd. We rest.

And then we pick up our shields and return to the fight on August 4th.

No matter how this goes down tonight, the other side will not rest. And we cannot afford to think our work is done.
